Interviewing Dr Nawal Al-Hosany About The Zayed Future Energy Prize, Sustainability, & Women In STEM

16 March 2016 | Posted by Zachary

Dr Nawal Al-Hosany, despite her sometimes humble and modest presentation style, is one of the most influential people at Masdar, which is one of the most influential companies in the UAE and in the clean energy sector. I was honored to spend some time with Dr Al-Hosany at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, so used the opportunity to get more insight into the Zayed Future Energy Prize (of which she is director) and broader sustainability matters (she’s also the Director of Sustainability at Masdar).

Jump into the video below to enjoy her commentary on Zayed Future Energy Prize effects, future Zayed Future Energy Prize plans, women in STEM, and the meaning of sustainability.

Some of the topics of our discussion included the growing number of people in the ZFEP alumni community, and the positive side effects of that; improving the ZFEP; what sustainability means; and bringing the success of UAE female engagement in STEM to more of the world as an inspiration.
